The ADM incorporation follows the
same process as wound healing.
For this reason the ADM requires a stable union with the vascularized tissue in the fistulous tract.
Following implantation, the wedge shape of Pressfit® anal fistula plug changes the inner section of the fistulous tract by creating interference between the vascularized tissues and the Pressfit® itself.
Thanks to the sharp edges of the wedge, the stability of the device and intimate contact with the surrounding tissue are ensured
allowing healing by first intention.
